At the end of this reading you will be decided on the destination of your next vacation, promised!

Greek Islands to visit | which are the most beautiful

Zante

Overhanging rocks on white sand framed by a clear sea. Zakynthos can meet every need, for those who like a bit of nightlife, Laganas is a must.

And the most beautiful beaches? Navagio, the very quiet Limnionas and even if difficult to reach, the incredible beach of Dafni.
Don’t miss the national marine park of Zante in the turtle bay.
From the nearby beach of Limni Keri, excursions depart to the uninhabited island of Marathonissi.

Kefalonia

Kefalonia was an island among the first habited areas, it saw many peoples and governments follow one another and was also the protagonist (even sadly) of the two world wars. The center of the island is Argostoli, teeming with bars and fancy restaurants, souvenir shops and tourists! Just from Argostoli you can easily reach the most hidden coves of the island and the most beautiful beaches!
To move, opt for the scooter, more practical than a car, or use the island’s boats or coaches.

Moving south from Argostoli, you reach Lixouri, what was once the capital of Kefalonia. Among the most beautiful beaches I mention Lepeda Beach and Xi Beach, with its magnificent pastel orange tint. Or the small bays of Mania Beach and Vatsa.
Along the road to the north, instead, you’ll Paliki, an area less frequented by tourists but of overwhelming beauty. Don’t miss the beaches of Platia Ammos and Petani Beach!
The crystalline sea makes it difficult to decide which is the most beautiful beach, but I have chosen one for you and many share with me this thought: Mirtos (or Myrtos).

Among the towns that I recommend you visit I quote Assos, Katelios and Fiskardo, a charming bay from which you can see the coasts of itaca. (easily reached in 30 minutes from the port of Sami).

Corfu

Corfu is the northernmost island of the Ionian Islands archipelago; here we meet the beauty of myItaly mixed with the English style and the French style! Corfu reflects the years spent under the Venetian, French and English governments, before the island became part of Greece only in 1864.
That’s why Corfù will give you history, its winding streets will tell you its culture, you’ll be fascinated by its sandy bays as well as by a magnificent sea.

Its beaches? The most beautiful Paleokastritsa the tourist Agios Giorgios Pagi and the wild Mirtiotissa.
But Corfu is much more and it would be good an article only on this wonderful island. Meanwhile, I recommend you visit the villages of Sidari, Benitses and the older one Palia Perithia.
The palace of Achilles or Achillon, where Princess Sissi spent her summer holidays, is also not to be missed.

Paxos

This tiny island, despite being little known, is really beautiful!
Romantic and quiet, perfect for lovers or families seeking relaxation, a beautiful sea and lots of fresh fish to eat in its delicious restaurants.
The must-see beaches are Gianna Beach, Kloni Gouli and the most difficult to reach but equally worthwhile, Kipiadi.
To reach Paxos you can arrive by ship to Corfu, then reach the nearby islet by hydrofoil.

Greece, Paxos Island

After listing the most beautiful Greek islands to visit in the Ionian archipelago,
now let’s move on to the beauty of the Dodecanese with Kos and Rhodes.

Kos is a pearl of the Aegean sea, is rich in history and archaeological sites. Every year attracts multitudes of tourists from all over the globe! In Kosbnothing is missing. Nightlife and relaxation, history and sea, uncontaminated nature and comfort of equipped beaches.
In Kos even the beaches meet all tastes! Some rocky, other stretches of fine golden sand.
Don’t miss its Mastichari, Agios Fokas, Camel Beach (or Kamila) and Limnionas beaches, just to name a few.

Rhodes

Its center is a medieval village and its 2 thousand years long history manages to fascinate anyone. We are in Rhodes, the largest island in the Dodecanese, one of the most popular destinations that every year sees tourists from all over the world take advantage of its wonderful beaches.
Suitable for everyone, from singles to families, from young to older, Rhodes offers to the tourist sun, sea, but also history, archeology, excursions, nightlife and relaxation.

Isola di Rodi, migliori isole greche

The beaches that you should definitely not miss are: Anthony Quinn Bay and St. Paul’s Bay considered to be the most beautiful of the island, it’s a super-equipped bay surrounded by high rocks that seem to draw a painting, and bathed by an incredibly clear sea.

Tsambika, on the other hand, is very popular for families, thanks also to its shallow waters, suitable for children. Here you can climb the 297 steps that will take you to the beautiful Byzantine Monastery of the Virgin of Tsampika. The view is stunning!
The beach of Prassonissi, instead, is in the exact spot where the Aegean and the Mediterranean sea meet, really fascinate the encounter between two seas
